About me

My fitness journey began in 2011 and was birth from a series of personal health challenges of being over weight, having bouts of gestational diabetes during my pregnancies and struggling with self-esteem issues, which led to a negative self-image. As I searched for an answer, I decided to start a small workout regimen of running 2 times per week.  Eventually, I entered 5k, 10k and half marathons.

 

My passion for health and fitness went into overdrive!  In a matter of months I had lost 25 pounds and a combined total of 10 inches.  Talk about a confidence booster!!  I built upon this foundation in 2016 and began a walking club with my local church called “Faith Walk”.  This group was the birthing place for my passion of getting healthy and helping others to do the same.

I soon noticed that as  result of walking, everyone in the group started to loose weight.

 

This gave me a sense of pride and it was clear that I had found my niche’. I wanted to help everyone reach their weight loss goals, while helping them to practice better eating habits and exercise routines that fit them individually. 
 
Year after year, that has been the story from those I’ve trained. “I done it,” “I’m down to my desired weight,” “I feel good,” “My labs are great,” “My doctor told me to keep doing what I’m doing.” My message was simple. Don’t tell me what you can’t do. Tell me where you want to be, and together we will make it happen.

The Pandemic

During the pandemic, the need to health and fitness grew among my current clients and In 2021, Arise Wellness was born. From the beginning, I wanted people to show up, be committed, and celebrate their non-scale victories. We’ve done just that! I introduced my clients to Hight Intensity Interval Training (HIIT), while incorporating cardiovascular workouts.


I was introduced to Kangoo Dance on my birthday, and from the very first day, I knew it was something I had to implement into my training program. After my first time rebounding, I took the training to become a Licensed Kangoo Dance Instructor.
There’s more work to be done, and I intend on doing everything I can to ensure I bring a variety of different classes to my city.

This journey has never been about me. My greatest amount of joy comes from seeing my clients meet and exceed their goals. Get ready, get ready, get ready…together we will empower one another and meet your fitness goals!
